Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland served six terms in Congress and became Ohio’s 68th governor in 2006. Although he led the state during the Great Recession, Governor Strickland worked with Republican and Democratic legislators to jumpstart the economy, prioritize Ohio’s education system, expand healthcare, and usher in new advanced energy and energy efficiency standards in Ohio. In 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Governor Strickland to be a public delegate to the 68th U.N. General Assembly. He also served as a senior advisor to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York.
