Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is a Distinguished Practitioner of Law and Public Policy at UC Berkeley’s School of Law, a Co-Chair and Board Member of Priorities USA Action and a Senior Advisor to Ready for Hillary PAC. Governor Granholm was elected as Michigan’s first female governor in 2002 and was re- elected in 2006 with the largest number of votes ever cast for governor in the state. During her time as governor, she focused on creating jobs, attracting international investment, improving education, and training workers to promote Michigan’s long- term economic health. Prior to becoming governor, she served as a judicial clerk for Michigan’s 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. She became a federal prosecutor in Detroit in 1990, and in 1994, she was appointed Wayne County Corporation Counsel. Granholm was elected Michigan’s first female attorney general in 1998.
